The Sale of the Building

This is the story of the gentrification of three apartment buildings on Kling street in Valley Village California. I have live here for more than 7 years now. It's an old neglected building. The landlord, Menachem Schilit, has been trying to sell my building.

Menachem, or Mindy as he is known, owned 3 rundown properties on Kling St. 11915, 11930 and 11935.  The buildings are old, built in the 60s and last updated in the 70's and though Mindy was a slumlord, he stayed away and left us alone. There are 24 +26 + 24 units.

Last January Mindy put the building up for sale but was forced to remove the listing as none of the buildings are to code. He never complied with the mandated earthquake retro fits.
However the deed did change hands. And last week realtor.com reported a sale for $6,800,000 to an LLC at 433 N Camden drive 1010 Beverly Hills 90210
Which brings up these guys:

And this week a new management company, Power Property Management, announced they were taking over. They promptly removed our recycling cans and sent a crew over to give a bid to remove the trees. All 3 building have large courtyards with trees inside.

We have a dozen mature junipers, bottle brush, crepe myrtles and some large rubber plants that have grown tree size. Another of the buildings has 2 enormous pine trees out front.
Our buildings are rent controlled with the majority of the residents having lived here for 30 years and more. All three buildings are old. The plan is to get us all to leave and develop the lots...
