On April 12, 2019 all tenants had notices taped to their doors that stated all personal items would be removed from our balconies as it was against the 'House Rules'.
It was pointed out that the posted 'House Rules' did, in fact, not address personal items on our balconies.
On April 25, 2019 Power Property Group posted another set of 'House Rules' amending the first post to include balconies as common areas and that 'no personal belongings, including bicycles, potted plants, equipment or other items may be placed in common areas (halls, balconies, stairways or about the building, outside unit door).
My balcony is a private area. If anyone other than the inhabitants of my apartment wished to access it, they would have to do so by ladder. This new set of 'House Rules' was attached to a notice titled Personal Belongings and stated,
"boxes, chairs, tables, BBQ grills, bicycles, storage bins, planter/flower pots, shopping carts, junk, etc... must be removed by May 2, 2019. No further notices will be sent, any personal items stored after the aforementioned date will be removed without notice."
I took this as a threat of theft of personal property and filed a complaint with the Los Angles Housing Dept.
